When asked by the Zentrum für Politische Schönheit if we could imagine bundling all the reactions to their actions into book form, we could only answer with a “yes.” The chance to go through tens of thousands of photos and materials, to work through the internal collection of comments called "HateLove," and to curate all of this put us in high spirits.

We were interested in an objective selection of critical as well as positive, but in any case exciting reactions. We didn't want to make a ZPS fanzine.
We limited the structure of the pages to the essentials: the juxtaposition of text and image. It was precisely the resulting tensions and associations that were decisive for us.
From more than 3,000 pages, we selected the ones we had at hand – not without discussing one or the other motif with the center and learning from their experience with the effect of certain images.
Within this process of planning, curating and designing, it became clear how much planning and foresight, but also illusion and deception, are involved in the actions – and that, as with a magician and his audience, only the reactions of the spectators, however contradictory or extreme they may be, complete the actions and breathe life and meaning into them.
