As part of the annual UFA Filmnächte in Berlin, which we have been conceptually supporting for over 14 years, publications are produced on the silent films shown. These brochures explain in detail the usually complex restoration of works from the 1910s to the 1930s, of which often only copies or abridged versions are still available, scattered around the world.

The Cabinet of Dr. Caligari is a German horror film by Robert Wiene from 1920. The expressionist silent film, a milestone in film history, celebrated its world premiere as an elaborately digitally restored version at the 64th Berlin International Film Festival in the Berlin Philharmonic Hall.
The restoration, which took almost two years, was financed by Bertelsmann, who asked us to design the programme booklets for the premiere.
For decades, Paul Czinner's silent film Der Geiger von Florenz (The Violinist of Florence) was only available in a heavily abridged version. In 2018, with the support of Bertelsmann, the Friedrich Wilhelm Murnau Foundation extensively digitally restored this gem from the film heritage of the historic Ufa film studio and added the long-lost scenes.
Der müde Tod (Destiny) is a German fantasy film by Fritz Lang from 1921. A digitally restored version of the film, produced by the Friedrich Wilhelm Murnau Foundation, was screened for the first time at the Berlinale in 2016.
The restoration was financed by Bertelsmann, who asked us to design the programme booklets and various marketing materials and backdrops for the premiere.
